R51 Nissan Pathfinder High Clearance Rear Bumper Kit

This is a high clearance DIY weld-together rear bumper kit for the R51 generation (2005-2012) Nissan Pathfinder. It features a bolt-on design, recessed 2" receiver hitch, and an excellent departure angle. The 9/16" thick recovery points get welded to the inside and outside of the bumper shell and then bolt directly to the frame for unbeatable strength. The recessed hitch receiver and smooth, sloping rear profile of this bumper eliminate catching points and allow it to easily glide over obstacles rather than hanging up. Simply put, this bumper allows you to forget about departure angle and will substantially improve the offroad capability of your R51 Pathfinder. It offers excellent protection from trail obstacles and distracted drivers and has been kept to a very reasonable weight of 102lbs through careful design work. Especially after factoring in the weight loss of removing your factory bumper and hitch receiver, this bumper will not add a significant amount of weight to your R51 and can even be installed with the stock suspension! However, make no mistake - This bumper has been designed with hard offroad driving in mind and can take a serious beating without skipping a beat.

This bumper has been designed to provide the absolute maximum departure angle and ground clearance for your Pathfinder. The rear profile of the bumper slopes inwards towards the vehicle and hugs the rear of the frame as tight as possible. The main section of this bumper is CNC-bent out of a single piece of  3/16" P&O Steel. This greatly reduces the amount of welding and grinding required by you and makes for a cleaner finished product. If you are paying to have the bumper assembled by a welding shop, this significantly lowers the cost.

The end result is a bumper that features a bolt-on design (minor trimming of a hidden area of the lower body corners required), an optional 2" hitch receiver that is recessed into the bumper shell for maximum clearance and a clean appearance (many people don't even notice its there!), and excellent protection from trail obstacles, trees and inattentive motorists. This bumper comes standard with 9/16" D-ring shackle mounts and is available with surface mount LED pod lights and tabs to mount the lights on top of the bumper or swing outs. To protect the vulnerable rear corners of your Pathfinder, this bumper is available with optional tubing side hoops that will help push your Pathfinder away from trees and rock walls.

Unlike many aftermarket bumpers that are more or less empty shells with minimal reinforcement, this bumper contains extensive internal ribbing and mounts directly to factory holes in the vehicle frame for unmatched strength and stiffness. The bumper side wings are tied directly into the vehicle frame using tubing supports, allowing the side wings to take serious offroad hits without flexing into the vehicle body. With this bumper, you'll be able to tackle challenging trails with a new level of confidence knowing that the rear end of your Pathfinder is well protected.

The ultra low-profile design of this bumper keeps the weight extremely reasonable at 102lbs in steel and 50lbs in aluminum while maintaining excellent strength. This is especially noteworthy when you consider the fact that the factory hitch receiver, frame crossmember and plastic rear bumper all get removed before installing the Coastal Offroad bumper. This means that even with our steel bumper version, the total weight increase to your vehicle is negligible at best. This minimizes added stress on your vehicle, maintains precious payload capacity, and allows you to keep your factory suspension if desired

The swing out carriers come in either a single or dual sided configuration and are built to accept a tire up to 37" in diameter. Both carriers include mounting brackets for a hilift jack and other recovery items. The dual swing out includes the hilift mount as well as a lockable jerry can holder designed to fit two 20L NATO style jerry cans. These carriers feature heavy duty chromoly heim joint hinges, locking 2000lb toggle latches, T-handle spring pins, and a replaceable UHMW catch pad that provides secure, rattle free operation. The heim joints in conjunction with the toggle latch provide tons of adjustability, allowing for easy assembly and guaranteed alignment of the carrier latch. The single swing out add-on weighs 34lbs and the dual swing out add-on with gas can holder weighs 77lbs.

• Note for Quarter Panel Protection Hoops Option: There is not enough space to mount the side hoops fully on top of the bumper side wings.
